Ambulance driver, bus conductor killed in road accidents in Kupwara

Kupwara, April 18 (ANH): Two persons including an ambulance driver were killed in two separate road accidents in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Monday, officials said.

They told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the first accident occurred in the afternoon when a mini-ambulance on the way to Tangdhar from Kupwara skidded off the road and rolled down into a Nallah near Zarla area of Karnah.

The driver, identified as Shakoor Ahmad Awan(38) son of Abdul Rehman Awan of Teethwal died on the spot.

The second accident took place in Kalmoona area of the district when a bus conductor was critically injured after he fell from a school bus. He was shifted to a nearby hospital but succumbed to his injuries there.

The official identified the deceased as Azim Ahmad Sheikh son of Bashir Ahmad of Suntipora Kralapora and said that his body was handed over to his family after legal formalities.

He said that the police have filed cases and have taken up investigations.
