Srinagar, May 10: In a significant development hailed by many, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has expressed relief and appreciation over the ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan.

India Confirms Ceasefire Agreement with Pakistan Following DGMO-Level Talks

Taking to social media platform X, the Kashmir’s chief cleric wrote, “Alhamdulillah. Better sense has prevailed and India and Pakistan have agreed to a ceasefire. It’s a huge relief for all, especially those living on both sides of the LOC where precious lives were lost and shelter and livelihoods destroyed.”

He further welcomed the possibility of dialogue between the two nations, referencing remarks made by US Secretary Marco Rubio regarding potential discussions on a broad range of issues. “Talks are the means to peace and stability. Glad that leadership on both sides agreed to this,” Mirwaiz noted.
