Gazi Muzamil, a law student and one of the protesting students in a statement said that “In the name of renovation, Kashmir University’s 24×7 Reading Room stands closed since August 05, 2019. It has been almost 28 months and students have been consistently denied access to study there.

Even after receiving an A+ grade from UGC, there is no let-up in students suffering at Kashmir University.

“As semester exams are going on in the varsity, 24×7 Reading Room-which happens to be the only medium for students to study and prepare for exams is closed.

University must take a note and should allow their students to avail the facility,  Added Usman Ghani, another protesting student. Students alleged that besides numerous representations to the chief librarian, Registrar & VC, the administration is unmoved with our pleas which adds to the sufferings.

We demand 24×7  facilitates shall be provided to the students as early as possible. Reading Room library must be reopened so that students will get relief, the statement reads.
