4 years on, Chadoora residents continue complain ‘impure’ drinking water

Stage protest, allege filtration plant constructed in 2013 remains defunct

Budgam, Jan 19: The residents of Hayatpora, Chadoora in central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Tuesday staged a protest against Jal Shakti Department Chadoora alleging that since past four years, they are being supplied impure drinking water while as filtration plant constructed in 2013 remains defunct.

As per news agency—KNO the protesters said that they are facing many problems due to the non-availability of pure drinking water.

“We have approached the Jal Shakti department many a times but nothing was done on ground level,” they residents said.

They also alleged that the filtration plant which was constructed in 2013 at Malapora continues to remain defunct. The protestors shouted slogans against Jal Shakti department demanding the pure water supply stating that the filtration plant should be made functional at the earlier. Jal Shakti officials of the area didn’t respond to repeated calls.
