Tahseen while talking with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that she had a fire in her belly to become an artist since childhood.

“I was fond of art and craft from my childhood. I loved to be creative and used to make handmade things as they were made out of love,” she said.

Tahseen said that after passing my 10th class exams she opted medicine+maths stream and couldn’t do much at that time and then after higher secondary she got admission in Asian Medical College Zakura campus.

“Soon after getting the admission in the college, the lockdown started and I had nothing to do. It was a bit difficult time for everyone to stay inside their home. In order to get engaged with something I started writing Quranic verses of hope and many more things,” she said.

“Despite interested in art, I didn’t had any idea of calligraphy then one day a friend of mine sent me picture of kalma written on it and which inspired me and that time i was like how can I miss it. And i wrote kalma in calligraphy for the first time and I saw everyone is appreciating me, that boosted my confidence and then I started doing calligraphy and tried to make it better by myself,” Tahseen said.

Tahseen said she has been passionately engaged in artwork since childhood, with a penchant for drawing and painting.

“She was drawn towards visual art at a very tender age, since then she developed herself into an artist,” said a family member.

Tehseen has no formal training in art and painting, the nuances were picked up by herself and she fine-tuned her craft through experimentation.

Tahseen said for her calligraphy is not only an escape from the depressing world, but it helps her to explore what more she can do.

“When the ink flows from the pen my stress also flows through it. I thank to Allah that he gifted me with this art,” she said.

“I have recently started a page, art by Tahseen where I showcase my artwork and take orders too,” she said.
