She also said that the Kafafa (monthly honararium) of Imams and Khateebs has to be increased on priority.

“The Imams and Khateebs are getting a meagre amount of Rs 3000-4000 as Kafafa, but it is imperative to enhance some percentage to ensure justice with them,” she said while talking to Asian News Hub (ANH).

She further said that a meeting with Imams and Khateebs was held today in which a threadbare discussion was held with regard to the upcoming holy month of Ramadhan.

She added that at all shrines and Masjids, the Imams have been asked to offer 20 rakats Taraveeh and also ensure Khatm-e-Quran during the holy month of Ramadhan.

Like other Waqf employees, the Imams and Khateebs too deserve respect, she said.
