Srinagar, Jun 19: The summer heat has intensified in the Kashmir Valley as Srinagar on Thursday recorded a scorching maximum temperature of 35.2 degrees Celsius, the highest in the month of June in the last 20 years.
According to data shared by Kashmir Weather, this is the warmest June day in the summer capital since June 25, 2005, when temperatures had reached 36.5°C.
The all-time highest temperature for the month of June in Srinagar, however, remains 37.8°C, recorded on June 29, 1978.

The soaring temperatures have prompted health advisories urging residents to stay indoors during peak afternoon hours, stay hydrated, and avoid strenuous outdoor activity.
