Chasing a 169-run target, Warwickshire were four down for seven runs after the sensational first over from Afridi. After giving five wides on the first delivery, the Pakistan star reloaded to trap Alex Davies in front of the stumps on the first legal delivery. On the next delivery, He clean bowled Chris Benjamin for a golden duck.

Dan Mousley denied Afridi a hat-trick chance but got out on the fifth delivery as Afridi picked his third wicket of the over. On the final delivery, Shaheen Afridi cleaned the stumps of Ed Barnard to finish the first over with four wickets for seven runs.
