Sopore, Oct 08: Sopore Police on Wednesday carried out a search operation at the house of Syed Yousuf Shah, son of Syed Najaf Shah, a resident of Hygam Sopore, in connection with an ongoing investigation under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).
Officials said the search was conducted after getting proper permission from the competent court. During the operation, police recovered and seized literature and photographs related to the banned organisation Jammu & Kashmir Itihad-ul-Muslimeen (JKIM).
A police spokesperson said that the operation is part of Sopore Police’s continued efforts to investigate the unlawful activities of banned groups and to dismantle the terror and separatist network in the area.

Police said they are committed to maintaining peace and security in the district and that strict action will continue against those involved in promoting separatism or supporting banned organisations.
