Sopore, Apr 15: Sopore Police on Wednesday registered an FIR against certain individuals for allegedly spreading rumours and misleading information through various social media platforms with the intent to disturb public peace and order.
Police said FIR No. 93/2026 has been registered at Police Station Sopore and further investigation has been taken up.
In a statement, police advised the public to refrain from creating, sharing or amplifying unverified content on social media, warning that such actions may invite legal consequences.

Citizens have been urged to rely only on official sources for information.
