Police in Budgam have arrested a man for allegedly harassing two minor girls by spraying a chemical substance into their eyes while they were returning from tuition classes.
Officials said a complaint was lodged by the parents of the victims, following which FIR No. 209/2025 under Sections 62 and 137 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) was registered at Police Station Chadoora. An investigation was immediately launched.
During the probe, CCTV footage and other technical evidence were analysed, leading to the identification of the suspect as Raja Furqan, son of Fayaz Ahmad Khan, a resident of Gowherpora, Chadoora. Police said the accused had used a snow spray to target the minors.

The clothes and shoes worn by the accused at the time of the incident were recovered, and the victims later identified him. He has since been arrested.
Police further revealed that the accused had allegedly attempted similar acts in the past but was let off by locals after being admonished, as no formal complaint was filed at that time.
Budgam Police reiterated their zero-tolerance policy towards crimes against women and minors, urging the public to promptly report any incidents of harassment to the nearest police station.
