Residents lockdown Govt high school at salamabad Baramulla,as education dept neglected it

Baramulla, June 19 : Residents have lock down the Government High School Dachina Salamabad in Tehsil Boniyar of Baramulla district since the institution is reportedly neglected by the concerned education department.

Government High school Dachina Salamabad is without fence, teaching, non-teaching staff, however the school has 350 total enrolled students.

Out of 24 teachers posted in the school, only 13 attend the school on regular basis, however the 24 posted teachers are only on paper, allege the parents.

The parents told Asiannewshub that there is “no teachers” for Mathematics and Science in the high school due to which the students suffer.

The parents lock down the school after evacuating their wards from the institution. The school was closed for three days from last Wednesday but no official from the educational department arrived yet.

The residents along with the Village head Mudasir Sadiq (Sarpanch) get in the school and locked it up after seeing the bad functioning of the school.

The residents told Asiannewshub that they will not let open the school till the education department takes solid action regarding the proper functioning and posting of Mathematics and Science teachers in the school, however,the government school is shut for many days.

They told Asiannewshub that they have many a times appealed to the education department officials including concerned ZEO and CEO baramulla regarding the matter but they seem to turn duff and dumb.

“We have approached the CEO Baramulla regarding the matter, who on the time assured the posting of teachers but that never happened on ground,” the parents added.

Since the mid-term exams are ahead their wards could reportedly fail since they have ‘not studied a word yet’.

ZEO Boniyar, Gh Mohammed Shah told Asiannewshub that they will post two more teachers in the school Immediately.

“Within a day or two teachers for Mathematics and Science respectively will be posted in the school and school will be functional as normal, however, we have posted one teacher there,” Shah told Asiannewshub.

He added that the the department would eventually remove the drawbacks of the school and institution will be fenced within coming weeks.

Despite repeated calls by Asiannewshub, CEO Baramulla Gh Mohammed Lone could not be reached for his comments.
