In a statement issued to Asian News Hub (ANH) an official said that on 24 November ARTO Shopian received reports of a vehicle plying on the roads with an excessive number of passengers. Shockingly, these passengers were not only exceeding the vehicle’s capacity but were also hanging outside the vehicle, posing a serious threat to their lives and violating multiple safety regulations.

He said, ARTO Shopian after receiving the complain promptly issued a directive to the drivers, emphasizing the gravity of overloading and warning them of strict consequences. The directive highlighted the potential dangers associated with overloading, underscoring the need for compliance with safety regulations.

The vehicle has now been blacklisted, and stringent measures will be implemented to ensure it is removed from the roads immediately, he said.

In addition to the blacklisting, the ARTO Shopian has urged citizens to report any instances of overloading or other violations promptly. Public cooperation is seen as crucial in maintaining road safety and upholding the rule of law.

This incident underscores the importance of strict enforcement of traffic regulations to prevent accidents and protect the lives of commuters. The ARTO Shopian has assured that such violations will be met with unwavering action to maintain road safety standards, the official added.
