Srinagar, Sept 18: A political war of words has erupted between Cabinet Minister Sakina Itoo and Member of Parliament Aga Ruhullah, with both leaders trading sharp remarks.
Earlier, Sakina Itoo slammed Ruhullah, questioning his credibility. “He fought elections on a party ticket, so what is he himself doing? He should explain his own role as an elected representative before pointing fingers at others,” she said.

Responding later, Ruhullah’s office issued a detailed statement, saying that those who have “bent their back in obedience” cannot be expected to recognize the efforts of those fighting oppression. Listing his interventions in Parliament and outside, his office highlighted issues taken up on horticulture, detentions, Waqf encroachments, road and health infrastructure, MPLADS disbursements, and assistance to patients under PMNRF.
Ruhullah also took a swipe at critics, remarking: “Your obedience to the oppressor may have earned you comfort, but it left us Kashmiris alone in the far harder task of challenging that very power.”
