Srinagar, July 26: MLA Pulwama, Waheed Para, has expressed serious concern over the delay in issuing formal orders for electricity bill amnesty announced by the J&K government, led by Omar Abdullah, for poor and economically weaker sections.
Taking to social media platform X, Para said that although the amnesty was announced in the budget six months ago, no official orders have been issued so far. “Thousands of poor families are facing power disconnections, heavy bills, and mental stress,” he said.

He questioned how families under BPL (Below Poverty Line) or IAY (Indira Awas Yojana) schemes could afford to pay lakhs in dues and urged the authorities to act immediately.
