In a post on X, Iltija claimed that their residence gates were locked, restricting their movement.

According to Iltija, Mehbooba Mufti was scheduled to visit Sopore, where Waseem Mir was recently shot dead by security forces. Meanwhile, Iltija herself had planned to travel to Kathua to meet the family of Makhan Din. However, she stated that authorities have prevented them from stepping out.

“Nothing has changed in Kashmir even after elections. Now even comforting the families of victims is being criminalized,” Iltija wrote in her post, condemning the restrictions imposed on them.

My mother & I both have been placed under house arrest. Our gates have been locked up because she was meant to visit Sopore where Waseem Mir was shot dead by the army. I intended to visit Kathua today to meet Makhan Din’s family today & am not being allowed to even move out.… pic.twitter.com/xJTtCRB4iX
