Police organises one-day workshop on road safety, traffic awareness in Budgam

Police in Budgam organized one day workshop on “Road Safety & Traffic Awareness” at Govt Degree College Charar-i-Sharief Budgam.

SSP Budgam Tahir Saleem-JKPS was the chief guest on the occasion. The programme was attended by Principal Govt. Degree College Charar-i- Sharief Ravina Hassan, SDPO Charar-i-Shareef Salim Jehangir-JKPS and other officers of Police. The main objective of the workshop was to sensitize awareness about road safety and traffic awareness among students and teachers to minimize the graph of road mishaps. An appreciable number of students and teachers attended the programme.

On the occasion, SSP Budgam Tahir Saleem-JKPS delivered detailed lecture on road safety & traffic awareness. He raised public awareness about traffic rules to reduce casualties due to road accidents. He added that thousands lose their lives and tens of thousands get injured in road accidents on yearly basis mainly due to lack of awareness or ignoring traffic rules and hence it is our obligation to make our youth aware of the traffic rules and to persuade them to follow these rules while on road. Moreover, a detailed Power-Point presentation on road safety was presented by the chief guest.

SSP Budgam administered oath/pledge to all participants wherein it was pledged that every participant will obey traffic rules and will persuade others also to do the same.

At the end of the workshop, Principal Govt Degree College Charar-i-Sharief concluded the programme by vote of thanks to Police for conducting such awareness programmes.
