Srinagar, April 29: Jammu and Kashmir witnessed an unusual spike in temperatures today, with weather stations recording the highest maximum temperatures ever for the month of April.
Pahalgam set a new all-time record with the mercury touching 27.8°C, surpassing the previous record of 27.4°C set on April 28, 1979. This is the highest temperature ever recorded in Pahalgam in the month of April, according to data from the Meteorological Centre, Srinagar.

Meanwhile, Srinagar recorded a maximum temperature of 30.8°C, marking it as the second-highest temperature ever recorded in April in the summer capital. The all-time highest remains 31.1°C, recorded on April 20, 1946.
