(Asian News Hub) – On the direction of High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, the Budgam administration on Monday seized at least seventeen brick kilns in Chadoora Tehsil of the district for violating norms set by the authorities.
An official told news agency Kashmir Dot Com (KDC), Tehsildar Chadoora accompanied by SHO Chadoora along with a police team and other officials seized all but seventeen brick kilns by the order of High Court for violating the norms set by the authorities.

He said out of seventeen brick kilns seized at Chadoora eight were identified as H7 owned by Shabir Ahmad Sofi a resident of Kralpora Chadoora, M-7 owned by Ghulam, Mohammad Dar, a resident of Panzan, H-1 owned by Ghulam Qadir Sofi, a resident of Kralpora, A-7 owned by Showkat Ahmad Bhat a resident of Panzan, 19-P owned by Ghulam Mohi ud din Parray, a resident of Dooniwari, 13-D owned by Jalaluddin Parray, a resident of Dooniwari, 11-A. owned by Mohammad Altaf Wani, a resident of Chitru Dangerpora and 11-G, owned by Bashir Ahmad Mir, a resident of Gowherpora, Chadura.

Tehsildar Chadoora Naseer Ahmad confirmed the seizure of seventeen brick kilns to Kashmir Dot Com and said the drive will continue tomorrow as well.
He said as per directions of the High Court within eight kilometer of radius from the centre of the runway from Srinagar International Airport thirty seven brick kilns have to be seized in our jurisdiction out of which almost seventeen were seized today.

Pertinently, In December last year, the Court had banned operations of brick kilns in the vicinity of Srinagar Airport with the observation that the smoke emitting from these kilns was hampering the flight operations.
