Srinagar, Oct 14: In a significant political development, Jammu and Kashmir’s Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has officially invited Omar Abdullah, leader of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference, to form the new government. This follows Abdullah’s unanimous election as Leader of the Legislature Party.
The letter from the Lieutenant Governor, dated October 14, 2024, confirms support for Omar Abdullah from prominent political leaders, including Tariq Hameed Karra of the J&K Pradesh Congress Committee, G.N. Malik of CPI(M), and other leaders and independent MLAs.
The swearing-in ceremony is scheduled to take place on October 16, 2024, at 11:30 a.m. at the SKICC, Srinagar, where Abdullah and his Council of Ministers will assume office.
