Srinagar, April 22: Senior National Conference leader and former Member of Legislative Council (MLC), Ghulam Nabi Shaheen, has passed away. He was the father of Sarah Hayat Shah, the State Spokesperson of the National Conference (NC).
Ghulam Nabi Shaheen was a prominent figure within the NC and had also served as the Provincial President for Kashmir. His passing marks a significant loss for the party and his community.

The Office of the Chief Minister expressed condolences on X, “Innā lillāhi wa innā ilayhi rājiʿūn. Saddened to learn of the demise of Jenab Ghulam Nabi Shaheen Sahib — a senior @JKNC_ leader, former MLC, and former Provincial President (Kashmir). My deepest condolences to @SaraHayatShah on the passing of her revered father. May his soul rest in eternal peace and the family find strength in this hour of grief.”
