CBI Files Chargesheet Against Former J&K Governor Satyapal Malik
The CBI had registered two cases in April 2022 following a request from the J&K government. The allegations pertain to:
- The awarding of a contract for the J&K Employees’ Health Care Insurance Scheme to a private company, involving the release of around Rs 60 crore in 2017-18.
- The award of a Rs 2,200-crore civil works contract for the Kiru Hydro Electric Power Project to a private firm in 2019.
Satya Pal Malik, who was the Governor of J&K during the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019, has been a vocal critic of the central government in recent years.
