The man, identified as Yogendra Kumar from Singhawali Ahir in Baghpat, disappeared in 2018 after facing criminal charges alongside his two brothers in connection with a brawl reported by a villager named Ved Prakash.

According to Jitendra Singh, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Singhawali Ahir, Kumar was charged under IPC sections 325 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 506 (criminal intimidation), prompting his disappearance. Suspecting foul play, Kumar’s family accused Prakash of his murder and sought legal action against him.

Last year, an FIR was registered against Prakash and two others under IPC sections 364 (kidnapping) and 302 (murder) after a court order. However, the police, after an eight-month investigation, failed to find substantial evidence supporting Kumar’s death.

Recently, Baghpat police revealed that they traced Kumar to Delhi after he appeared in court to seek pending bail. He was working as a taxi driver in the city and had started a new life with a woman, with whom he had four children.

SHO Singh explained that during questioning, Kumar revealed a longstanding rivalry with Prakash and an extramarital affair with a woman in Delhi’s Rohini. In 2018, following the criminal charges, he left home to live with her, while his family believed he had been kidnapped and killed.

Rita, Kumar’s wife in Baghpat, expressed her frustration, stating that he had neither visited nor communicated with the family since 2018. She said that the family’s desire for the truth to be uncovered and for justice to prevail.
