New Delhi, May 26: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel for allegedly engaging in espionage activities and leaking sensitive information to Pakistani intelligence operatives.
The accused, identified as Moti Ram Jat, was apprehended from Delhi. According to the NIA, Jat had been actively involved in sharing classified information related to national security with Pakistan Intelligence Officers (PIOs) since 2023. Investigators also revealed that he had been receiving funds from the PIOs through various channels.
The arrest came after sustained surveillance and investigation by the NIA, which has intensified its efforts to crack down on espionage networks operating within the country. Following his arrest, Jat was produced before the Special Court at Patiala House, which remanded him to NIA custody until June 6, 2025.

Sources within the agency say the interrogation is ongoing and more revelations are expected in the coming days.
The NIA continues to probe the extent of the information leak and is tracking potential links to other operatives or handlers within and outside India.
