New Delhi, Oct 09: Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Amit Shah, today chaired a high-level meeting in New Delhi to review the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir.
The meeting was attended by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Union Home Secretary, Director Intelligence Bureau, Chief of Army Staff, Chief Secretary and DGP of J&K, as well as senior officials from the Army, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), and the Government of India.
During the meeting, Amit Shah reaffirmed the Modi Government’s firm commitment to making Jammu and Kashmir completely free from terrorism. He said that due to the strong and coordinated efforts of security agencies, the terrorist network created by the country’s enemies in the region has been almost eliminated.

The Home Minister assured that the security forces will continue to have full freedom to crush any attempt that threatens peace and security in Jammu and Kashmir.
Shah also praised the local administration and security agencies for their quick and effective response after the recent Pahalgam terror attack, which, he said, has further strengthened the overall security environment in the Union Territory.
He stressed the need for close coordination among all security agencies and urged them to maintain utmost vigilance to root out terrorism completely from the region.
The Home Minister also directed the forces to remain fully alert during the winter months, ensuring that terrorists do not take advantage of snowfall to infiltrate across the border.
