According to details available, three houses were completely gutted in an overnight blaze in Nawa Kadal, leaving several families without shelter.

Bilal Ahmed, a local resident, recounted the horror: “We couldn’t save anything—just the clothes on our bodies. All our belongings, documents, and memories were turned to ash before our eyes.”

Earlier on Sunday night, two residential houses in Rajbagh were also engulfed in flames. Locals reported hearing loud explosions before thick smoke blanketed the area.

“There were sudden blasts, and within moments, the fire spread uncontrollably,” said Suhail, a resident. Despite community efforts to contain it, the flames moved rapidly.

Meanwhile, another fire broke out on Sunday evening in Safa Kadal’s Malik Sahab area, damaging the first floor of a residential house. Timely response from firefighters prevented the fire from spreading further.

On Monday morning, a double-storey house at Mir Mohalla, Ghat No. 09 near Golden Lake of Dal Lake, was also damaged in a fire around 10 AM. The blaze was contained by Fire and Emergency Services, but not before one structure sustained damage.

Thankfully, no casualties have been reported in any of the incidents. However, the series of fire outbreaks has raised concern among locals, as authorities continue to investigate the causes behind these repeated incidents.
