Mudasir Rehman: First creative artist from Kashmir to feature in Asia, India book of records

(Asian News Hub) – A young creative artist from Kulgam is the first artist from Kashmir to get an entry in Asian and Indian book of records.

Mudasir Rehman Dar,26, a resident of Kulpora village in Kulgam district, a  known figure in Kashmir for creative abstract painting and portraits have been carving for a platform to display his talent despite winning several awards at mega stages.

Dar, while talking to news agency—KNO, said that since his childhood he was naturally attracted towards the art.

“I used to make paintings with different messages. I usually tried to focus on social evils through my artwork like a drug addict, child labour and other social injustices besides ongoing conflict,” he said, adding that the artwork giving him a peace of mind.

Dar said that in Asia book of records he got “Grand Master” title while as in India Book of records he was awarded ” feet achieved” title.

“Besides I have won so many awards at the national, state and district level including dozens of certificates,” he said.

Dar said though getting entry in Asian and Indian book of records are an acknowledgement of his work, but his real happiness will be when he will get a platform to show his real talent.

He said that Kashmiri youth are talented but there is a lack of platforms, where they can show their talent and government, must look into it seriously

Dar is a God gifted talent and also paints the world’s smallest painting of the Holy Kabbah on a ring stone and a leaf.

‘Militant associate’ arrested in Kupwara; 10 grenades, 182 bullets recovered

(Asian News Hub) – Army and police have recovered ten grenades and 182 rounds of Ak-47 rifle from a militant associate who was arrested in Kralpora area in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, official sources said on Tuesday.

They said army 160 Territorial Army and SOG Kralpora arrested the “militant associate” Abdul Ahad Lone based on specific information. “10 grenades and 182 Ak-47 rounds” have been recovered from his possession.They said middle-aged man was associated with Al-Badr formerly.

A police officer confirmed the arrest and said that further investigations are underway.

Three unidentified militants killed in Anantnag

(Asian News Hub) – Three unidentified militants have been killed in an encounter that raged between government forces and militants in Vailoo area of Kokernag belt in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Tuesday.

A senior police officer told that three unidentified militants have been killed whose identification is being ascertained while as operation is on in the area.

He said the militants turned down repeated surrender offers given to them by government forces.

Earlier, an official said that a joint team of Police, Army’s 19 RR and CRPF launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) on specific information about the presence of militants in the area.

He said that as the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them, which was retaliated, triggering an encounter.

Pertinently, 46 militants have been killed in J&K so far this year and most of them belong to Shopian district.

Militant killed in an ongoing encounter at Anantnag
