Srinagar, July 24 : On 21st July, a team led by Cliffhangers successfully scaled Mount Vale head via its southern route. The peak stands at an altitude of 4750 m.

The expedition started on 17th July and had 12 participants along with porters. However, Mount Vale Head was scaled by three members:  Aijaz Raina and Rahul Ogra led by Cliffhangers’ trek leader Nazir Raina.

The peak was first scaled between 1933 and 1945 by John A Jackson (chief instructor of mountaineering centre at Sonamarg) via Thajwas route which is considered the toughest route to scale this peak. However, a team of Cliffhangers led by Mohammad Arif and Nazir Raina scaled the peak via its southern route, the first of its kind.

This marks a remarkable feat as this becomes the first commercial Mount Vale Head expedition.
