In a heart-rending tragedy, a mother died of shock shortly after learning about the death of her son in Udhampur district, officials said.
The deceased youth, identified as Irshad Ahmed, a resident of Larana village in Ramnagar Panchayat, had gone to a nearby forest area to fetch timber when he accidentally fell from a tree, leading to his death on the spot.
Officials said that soon after the tragic incident, the news was conveyed to his family. On hearing about her son’s death, Irshad’s mother, Zaitoon Begum, reportedly went into severe shock and collapsed at home. She was immediately rushed to a hospital, where doctors declared her dead.

The double tragedy has plunged the entire village into mourning, with locals terming the incident as deeply heartbreaking. Police said all necessary legal formalities have been completed and no foul play is suspected in either of the deaths.
Residents of Larana village expressed profound grief, stating that the family has been devastated by the loss of both mother and son within a short span of time. (KNT)
