Moderate intensity earthquake jolts Kashmir

Srinagar, June 12 : A moderate intensity earthquake of magnitude 5.3 rocked Kashmir Wednesday morning causing panic among the residents who ran out of their homes.

The earthquake struck at 08 :40 IST and lasted several seconds as people ran out of their homes, fearing for their safety, witnesses said.

The epicentre of the quake was at a depth of 10 kilometres in northwestern Pakistan.
