Jammu and Kashmir Police have registered a case after Fire & Emergency Services (F&ES) personnel were allegedly obstructed and physically attacked during firefighting operations at Haba Kadal Srinagar.

Officials said that during the operation on Tuesday evening, some miscreants interfered with the rescue efforts, resorting to unruly behaviour and physical aggression, thereby hampering firefighting work and endangering lives and property.

Police Station Kral Khud has registered FIR No. 07/2026 under Sections 132 and 121 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). During the investigation, one accused, identified as Abdul Majeed Sheikh, a resident of Khanyar Mir Masjid, has been arrested, while further probe is underway.
