Srinagar, Jul 12: After brief exchange of fire last evening, militants have managed to give slip to government forces in Reban Chittragam area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district.

Reports said that a joint team of Army, CRPF and Police had launched a Cordon-and-Search operation after specific information about the presence of militants in the area on Monday evening.
They said that as the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them, which was retaliated, triggering an encounter, after initial exchange of fire, no contact was established with the militants.

Cordon layers were tightened after initial exchange of fire, however, nothing has been found following which operation has been called off, reports added.
