Makkah, Mar 29: The crescent moon marking the beginning of Shawwal 1446 has been sighted in Saudi Arabia, confirming that Eid Al Fitr will be celebrated on Sunday, March 30, 2025.
A significant change in the leadership of Eid prayers at Masjid Al Haram, Makkah, has also been announced. President of the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques, Sheikh Abdur Rahman As Sudais, will be the Imam and Khateeb for this year’s Eid Al Fitr prayers.
This marks the end of a historic 22-year tenure of Sheikh Saleh Al Humaid, who had been leading Eid prayers consecutively at the Grand Mosque.
