Riyadh, Jun 25: The crescent moon for the Islamic month of Muharram was sighted in Middle East on Wednesday evening.
With the sighting of the moon, the new Islamic year 1447 Hijri will begin tomorrow, Thursday, June 26, 2025. Muslims across middle east will mark the 1st of Muharram as the start of the Hijri calendar, which is based on the lunar cycle.

Muharram is considered one of the four sacred months in Islam, and its first ten days hold great significance for Muslims around the world.
