Tel Aviv, Jun 16: Tensions between Iran and Israel have sharply escalated after a series of overnight missile attacks.
In Israel, five people were killed and around 100 injured after Iranian missiles struck several areas. Three people are still missing. One of the missiles landed near a foreign embassy in Tel Aviv, according to Israeli media.
In Bat Yam, near Tel Aviv, a missile caused massive destruction. Two more bodies were recovered from the rubble, raising the total number of deaths in Israel to five. Ukraine confirmed that all five victims in Bat Yam were Ukrainian nationals.

In response, Israeli strikes on Iran have killed around 240 people and injured more than 900 since Friday. Among those killed were top commanders of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and several nuclear scientists, according to Iranian state media.
The situation remains tense, with fears of further escalation between the two countries.
