Srinagar, Jul 10: Body of 20-year-old MBBS student who had gone missing while taking bathing inside a pond at Vilgam Kupwara this afternoon, was retrieved after hours of hectic efforts by police and locals.
A local source told GNS that the police, locals and family were hoping against the hope upto the moment when ultimately the lifeless body descended all of them into sheer gloom and agony. Desperate efforts were made by police and locals to bring the youth out safely, but it wasn’t to be, he said.
Earlier an official said that at least three boys went untraceable inside a pond in Punzwa village of Villgam this afternoon while they were bathing in the water source. “It happened that after a certain time, two among the three boys waded their way through and came out safely, with the police and locals launching a rescue operation with bare minimum logistics available to save the third youth – identified as Shahid Amin Beigh son of Mohammad Amin Beigh, an MBBS student.
