Srinagar, April 25(ANH): One person was arrested for collecting funds for banned organisation Jammat-e-Islamia (JeI) in Baramulla.
In a statement issued here, a police spokesman said that acting on a specific information about collection of money in the name of banned organization Jamaat-e-Islami in town Baramulla, Baramulla Police and Army 46RR arrested one person namely Mohd Amin Ganie S/O Ali Mohammad Ganie resident of Microwave Colony Kanlibagh Baramulla, who was riding on a scooty bearing registration No. JK05G-7856, three receipt books of Jamaat-e-Islami, one mobile phone and cash of Rs 15,900, which was collected by him from the general public in the name of banned organization JeI.
A search was also carried out at his house at Kanlibagh Baramulla and following material was recovered i.e; JK Bank Passbook 02 No’s, JK Bank Cheque Books 03 No’s and three Blank booklet of Jamaat-e-Islami.
Cases under sections of UA (P) Act registered in Police Station Baramulla and investigation set in motion, the spokesman added.
