According to the MeT Department, the weather is expected to remain generally cloudy, with precipitation likely to begin from late night of December 20 and continue till late afternoon or evening of December 21. Isolated higher reaches of North and Central Kashmir may receive snowfall, while many plain areas could witness light rain.

The MeT Centre has also issued an advisory, warning that light to moderate snowfall combined with sub-freezing temperatures over higher reaches and key mountain passes may lead to slippery road conditions, particularly during the night of December 20 and morning hours of December 21.
