Srinagar, Feb 12: As freezing temperatures persist in Jammu and Kashmir, a significant change in weather is on the horizon.
The meteorological department forecasts a wet spell from February 18-20, bringing potential relief from the bone-chilling cold.
Light to moderate snow/rain is expected across various regions, marking a departure from the prolonged freeze, an official from MeT centre Srinagar told Asian News Hub.

Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, recorded a low of minus 3.6°C on Monday, signaling a slight increase in temperature from the previous night. Despite this rise, temperatures remain below normal by 3.8°C for this time of the year. Other key areas, such as Qazigund, Pahalgam, Kokernag, Kupwara, and Gulmarg, are also experiencing temperatures either below normal or slightly above, contributing to the overall chilly atmosphere.
