J&K Bank Guard’s Murder: Family members, relatives stage protest, demand justice

‘Victim was lone brother among 7 sisters, only bread earner for his family’

Jammu, Jan 22: Scores of residents of New Plot area of Jammu and family members and relatives of Bank ATM guard, who was found dead inside the ATM chamber last night in Nanak Nagar, Friday morning held a protest demonstration, demanding culprits be brought to book.

Witnesses told the news agency—KNO that the protesters blocked the New Plot road.

“We demand a fair and speedy investigation into the matter so that murderers are put behind the bars,” the protesters demanded.

They further said that victim bank guard was lone brother among seven sisters and only bread earner in his family with aged and ailing parents.

They said that the victim is also survived by his wife and two children.

“It was an attempt of loot but he (victim ATM guard) sacrificed his life and saved the money and now government should honor his bravery and should provide financial aid to the victim family,” said protesters while demanding a job in for victim’s wife in J&K Bank.

Notably, Raju Sharma son of Gullu Ram was found murdered inside the ATM chamber, he was guarding in Nanak Nagar, last night.

An official said that police have already registered a case in the local police station and investigation is going on.

Cop shot dead at Saidapora Eidgah

(Asian News Hub) – Unknown gunmen on Thursday evening shot dead a policeman in Saidapora area of Eidgah Srinagar.

Official sources said that a policeman identified as Javeed Ahmad Kambey, son of Ghulam Muhammad Kambey of Saidapora was shot at by unknown militants near his residence.

They said that Khandey after receiving fire injury in the neck was immediately shifted to SKIMS Soura in critical condition.

Official sources said that the injured cop later succumbed to his injuries on way to the hospital.

Woman injured in hit-and-run accident near Noora Hospital Sgr

(Asian News Hub) – A woman was critically injured after she was hit by an unknown vehicle on National highway near Noora Hospital in HMT on the outskirts of Srinagar on Thursday evening.

Official sources said that 48-year-old woman identified as Muneera resident of Tangmarg was hit by the unknown vehicle near Noora Hospital HMT, leaving her severely injured.

They said that the woman was shifted to a nearby hospital where from she was referred to SKIMS Soura in critical condition.

Meanwhile, Police have registered a case in this regard and investigation has been taken up.

Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar visits Bandipora’s Tulail

(Asian News Hub) – Famous Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar on Thursday visited remote Tulail along the Line of Control in Gurez valley of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district.

Sources said that the actor reached Neeru village of Tulail via helicopter at around 12 noon today.

They said that he is scheduled to interact with Army and BSF jawans at Neeru village.
