(Asian News Hub) – Amid a new coronavirus wave sweeping the country, India’s Health Ministry issued an advisory in view of upcoming festivals. It had advised states to issue local restrictions and not allow mass gatherings for festivals such as Holi, Easter and Eid-ul-Fitr.
It also urged states to strictly adhere to SoPs issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and stick to Covid-appropriate behaviour to limit the transmission of the coronavirus.
India detected a new double mutant variant of the coronavirus from Maharashtra in a big dampener amid rising coronavirus cases in the country. Over 47,000 cases were reported on Wednesday, highest in over four months.
