Tehran/Washington, June 11: The United States launched a fresh round of airstrikes on Iran on Thursday, escalating tensions in the region as Tehran responded with strikes targeting Bahrain, Kuwait and Jordan.
The latest US attacks came after President Donald Trump warned that Iran would “pay the price” amid stalled negotiations over ending the conflict.

The renewed exchange of strikes marks the third major escalation this week, testing a fragile ceasefire that has repeatedly come under strain.
Iran has maintained its position on the strategic Strait of Hormuz, a vital global energy route, with disruptions contributing to higher oil prices and concerns over energy supplies.
Addressing the United Nations Security Council, Iran’s Ambassador Amir Saeid Iravani said Tehran would not negotiate under threats or pressure.
“Iran has never negotiated under threats and pressure and will never submit to pressure,” he said.
While diplomatic efforts continue, both sides remain divided over key issues, including Iran’s nuclear programme, regional security and the future of the ongoing conflict.
