Islamabad, May 10: In a significant diplomatic development, Pakistan and India have agreed to a ceasefire with immediate effect, according to a statement by Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).
“Pakistan and India have agreed to a ceasefire with immediate effect. Pakistan has always strived for peace and security in the region, without compromising on its sovereignty and territorial integrity!,” Dar wrote on X.

The announcement comes amid heightened tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbors and signals a potential thaw in relations.
