Over 4,500 fatalities bring country’s tally to more than 283,200 according to World meter, biggest one-day increase for any country in the world
(Asian News Hub) – India on Wednesday reported a new daily record of 4,525 deaths from the novel coronavirus in the past 24 hours.
The data showed that the death toll reached 283,276 with the latest fatalities. It also marked the world record with the highest number of COVID-19-related deaths in the country.
The country’s overall case tally had reached 25.49 million with the addition of 267,044 new infections.
Over 21 million recoveries have been reported so far.
The country has seen difficult days in recent weeks because of occupancies in intensive care units and the spread of a more contagious variant.
