Srinagar, June 07: A gunfight raged between militants and security forces in the orchads of Badimarg/Aloora, which lies on the border lines of Kulgam and Shopian district, the Badimarg area pertains to Shopian district.

Reports said that joint team of Security forces launched a Cordon-and-Search operation after receiving inputs about the presence of militants in the area.
As the security forces zeroed the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them triggering an encounter.

Two to three Militants are believed to be trapped, sources said.
“Encounter has started in the orchards of Badimarg/ Aloora area of Shopian. Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow,” Kashmir Zone Police tweeted.
