Srinagar vaccination centres continue to be vaccine-free
(Asian News Hub) – Majority of the Vaccination centres across Srinagar and other districts of Kashmir continued to be without Covid Vaccines today, for immunisation due to its non-availability.
Pertinently Government on Tuesday announced that the fresh shipment of vaccines have been received and immunisation drive will be started on war footing from today, however on ground the picture looked contrary after the people came back from vaccination centres without taking the vaccine dose after they were informed about it’s non-availability.
Pertinent to mention that Department of Health and Medical Education on Tuesday on it’s official twitter handle said, “J&K has today received fresh consignment of Covishield vaccine. The immunisation drive in Jammu and Kashmir division to continue on a war footing from tomorrow, 19th May. The government has also ensured for a continuous supply of vaccine doses to meet requirements”.
Meanwhile many residents of Srinagar who had gone to vaccination centres for taking the Jab told Asian News Hub, they had come to the vaccination centre after Government announced about the resumption of vaccines from today, but officials at the vaccination centres are saying they haven’t received the supply yet.
Another Srinagar resident said that Government has made mockery of this vaccination, one day they say, they have vaccines available in abundance, and when the vaccine stock ends, then they announce we have received the new shipment.
“Where are the vaccines, I have to take my first dose, where should I get it now”, he said.
Asian News Hub team went to different vaccination centres across Srinagar and found the vaccination centres, without Covid Vaccine, on being asked by the Asian News Hub to the officials available at the vaccination centres about the availability of Covid vaccines, they said, they have not received any supply.
Meanwhile Medical Superintendent of SMHS told Asian News Hub, that till afternoon they have not received the supply of vaccines.
Similar reports were also received from other centres and other districts of Kashmir about the continuing non availability of vaccines.
