Fire and Emergency Services (F&ES) J&K attended five fire incidents across the Kashmir Division during the last 24 hours, officials said on Friday morning.
An official from the fire and emergency service department said that two haystacks of dry grass caught fire at Trikulbal in Pattan area of Sopore. On M.A. Road near City Mall in Srinagar, a single-storied CRPF barrack along with store rooms of 246 Battalion CRPF was damaged in a fire incident.
In another incident, a double-storied residential house was affected by fire at Kuchmulla in Tral area of Pulwama district. At Arampora, Wagay Mohalla in Sumbal area of Bandipora, a kiryana shop suffered damage due to fire., official said.
Meanwhile, a single-storied residential house was involved in a fire incident at Narbal in Budgam district.

Firefighters displayed remarkable bravery and courage during the operations, working tirelessly to contain the blazes, protect property and prevent the spread of fire, officials said.
The Fire and Emergency Services department noted that under the leadership of ADGP Fire & Emergency Services, Alok Kumar, a noticeable decline in fire incidents has been observed, attributed to regular fire safety awareness programmes, daily mock drills and timely emergency response.
The ADGP also stressed that with active public cooperation and strict adherence to fire safety advisories, the objective of minimising fire incidents can be achieved. (KNC)
