Srinagar, Dec 3: At least five residential houses were damaged in a massive blaze in the Novpora Khyam area of Srinagar on Wednesday.
According to officials, three houses were completely gutted while two others suffered partial damage before fire tenders managed to bring the flames under control.
Locals and firefighters jointly launched a timely operation to prevent the fire from spreading further in the congested locality.

No loss of life or major injuries was reported. The cause of the fire is being ascertained, the officials added.
