The auto dealer association has pilloried Hyundai Pakistan and Kia Pakistan for tweets on Kashmir.

Facing social media backlash after Hyundai’s Pakistan dealer sparked controversy with a post on Kashmir, Korean car major’s India unit had said it has been committed to Indian market for 25 years and firmly stands for strong ethos of respecting nationalism.

“The unsolicited social media post linking Hyundai Motor India is offending our unparalleled commitment and service to this great country. India is second home to the Hyundai brand and we have zero tolerance policy towards insensitive communication and we strongly condemn any such view,” Hyundai India said in a Twitter post.

On Saturday, HyundaiPakistanOfficial posted a tweet supporting ‘Kashmir Solidarity Day.’

The post which has now been made inaccessible said, “Let us remember the sacrifices of our Kashmiri brothers and stand in support as they continue to struggle for freedom.”

This triggered a social media outrage with users asking for boycott of Hyundai.

“Hyundai communication disaster is a good learning experience for corporate world to not support Pakistani terrorism. Bad for business. @HyundaiIndia needs to ask @Hyundai_Global  to issue apology and take stringent action against @PakistanHyundai . Or people will #BoycottHyundai,” wrote a Twitter user.
