Srinagar, May 28 (ANH): An encounter has started between security forces and militants in Shitipora, Bijbehara area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Saturday evening.

Reports reaching The Asian News Hub (ANH), said that acting on a specific input, joint team of forces launched cordon-and-search operation in the area.
They said that as the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them, which was retaliated triggering an encounter.
“Encounter has started at Shitipora, Bijbehara area of Anantnag. Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow,” tweeted Kashmir Zone Police.
Meanwhile mobile internet has been snapped in the area to avoid any law and order situation, sources said.
